The first boats have arrived at the port of Oneglia for the 'Imperia Classic Yacht Meeting' such as the 34m SY White Heather and the 21m MY Exocet. Also the 78m 1921 steam yacht Delphine has today left Brindisi, South Italy, where they took a brake from their journey from Croatia to steam ahead to reach Imperia for a very 'classic' welcome on Saturday, 28th at 11:30am with a brass band and all the Imperia people, the major and the president of the region and, of course, the press and TV stations present!
One very special highlight of a yachting event with an extraordinary programme. Which other boatshow has free entertainment for all with life music, dancing, jazz, etc. every evening 'on stage' ? Visiting sales & charter brokers can enjoy invitations to cocktail parties and lunches as well as a round of golf at the Garlenda golf course on Monday. There is also a free shuttle for brokers every day from Genoa (next to Molo Vecchio).
Organisers have announced that there still are a few mooring spots available for classic yachts who would like to visit Imperia just on a casual basis and they will be invited to join in the fleet of exhibited boats. Because of the fantastic location not a problem at all. Of course these boats are not allowed to engage in any commercial activity unless registered with the organisers.
We hope to see you all at this long weekend for lots of interesting conversations, to see beautiful boats, and last but not least : to have lots of fun at the collateral events !
