First yacht auction hailed a success

After 12 months of hard work the first internet yacht auction took place last week. With entries exceeding expectations and strong bidding from registered individuals the legal team of The Yacht Auction are now finalizing a number of sales.

12 months ago we set ourselves an entry list target that would attract one or two buyers and maybe a sale, so the results we have achieved are very promising” said director James Fordham.

With the worsening world economic climate, we were not sure what to expect for the first auction, so to achieve these results has, absolutely, proved the model works”, said fellow director Andy McDougall. “Over the last week we have had a tremendous amount of interest from around the world, specifically Europe, but including South Africa, China, and South America. Also encouraging is the fact that brokers are starting to realise the benefits and are approaching us to discuss entering a selection of their client’s yachts” added Andy

Discussions are already underway at the companies London office with regard to running bespoke auction sales outside of the planned four dates the company intends on running this year. These bespoke auctions are specifically designed for yachts of 40 meters plus which shows the flexibility of TheYachtAuction.com to adapt to larger yachts.

The next auction date has been set for April 25th and registrations from new bidders are already flooding in. The team at The Yacht Auction are forecasting a good selection of both power and sail and are currently in negotiations to list some very attractive and sizable yachts.
