Fraser Yachts appoints new director of yacht management

Fraser Yachts is very excited to announce the arrival of Gerrard Harvey as the new Director of the Fraser Yachts Yacht Management Division, based in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Gerrard brings a rich history of multi cultural and international experience to Fraser Yachts. Originally from Christchurch New Zealand Gerrard joined the Royal New Zealand Navy after completing High School education at Marist Brothers in Palmerston North. In 1980 he attended the officer promotion course before being selected to attend the Royal Naval Engineering College at RNEC Manadon United Kingdom.

Over the next eleven years Gerrard held a variety of senior positions within the New Zealand Defence Forces both in New Zealand and overseas. Later on he was awarded the MBE by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth for service to the Royal New Zealand Navy. In December 1992 he resigned from the Navy to take up the position of Director of Marine Operations with Blue Lagoon Cruises a South Pacific based boutique cruise line operator. At the time of his resignation from the Royal New Zealand Navy Gerrard held the rank of Commander and was the Director Marine Engineering, Director Naval Engineering Plans and Commanding Officer of HMNZS Wakefield at Defence Headquarters in Wellington.

Some eighteen months after joining the Blue Lagoon Cruises management team Gerrard was promoted to the position of CEO and one year later he was invited to join the Board of Directors of the company and assumed the position of CEO & Managing Director of Blue Lagoon Cruises.
