Fraser Yachts has introduced the option for clients to carbon offset their yachting in association with Yacht Carbon Offset. The service will be made available on a voluntary basis to yacht owners, charterers and their representatives.
Yacht Carbon Offset provides a clear, auditable way of demonstrating that the carbon footprint of a yacht’s engines and generators has been balanced. The emissions relating to the specified fuel quantities are balanced by greenhouse gas emission reductions by green energy projects, funded through the offset.
Patrick Coote, Marketing Director of Fraser Yachts said: “Almost by definition, yacht owners and charterers are passionate about the world’s oceans. We can now offer them the possibility of balancing their enjoyment by offsetting the carbon footprint of their boats. Fraser Yachts is at the leading edge of “green yachting” and is currently working on a number of innovations with naval architects, engineers and shipyards.”
Yacht Carbon Offset’s Managing Director Mark Robinson commented: “We are delighted to be working with Fraser Yachts, who have for many months been making individual clients aware of how they can take practical steps to do something about their yacht’s carbon footprint. We have seen that Carbon Offsetting appeals to many of those that own and enjoy the world’s finest yachts and we thank Fraser Yachts for bringing this into their regular dialogue with their clients.”
