The Real Club Nautico de Palma’s traditional season opener, PalmaVela concluded this weekend. The International Maxi Association’s 2022 Mediterranean Maxi Inshore Challenge had a successful start with seven yachts racing under IRC, and the 30.48-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5656" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Galateia30.48m (100'0&quot;)Green Marine2015">Galateia</a> dominating the event.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/226371/image/large-470dfad308524a337e2b7a617ad59925.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/226371">The event was originally created as a regatta for Maxis, and formerly known as the Maxi Race Week. Sadly due to work commitments, Galateia’s owner David M. Leuschen was unable to compete and instead handed over the wheel to his tactician, Kelvin Harrap.
