For the past eight years, superyacht design studio Redman Whiteley Dixon has presented an annual Auto Tour that takes some of the company’s closest partners, clients and friends from England to Monaco, just in time for the annual yacht show. 2016 was no different and the ninth edition of the rally ended on a high once more as the fleet of super and classic cars arrived in the Casino Square in Monte Carlo.
This year’s route saw the cars head through the French countryside once again, making stops at a number of local landmarks and iconic sights. Scenic driving stages were broken up with delectable breakfast and lunch stops along the way. An early morning sunrise drive up the famous Tour de France stage point, Mont Ventoux, was a highlight for the early-risers in the group on the final day.
After a short afternoon drive from the picturesque town of Castellane, the group joined on the outskirts of Monaco to be escorted into Monte Carlo where a grand reception on the Salle Empire terrace at Hôtel de Paris awaited.
The Tour offers a select few owners, designers and shipyard directors to arrive at the most prestigious yachting event on the superyacht calendar in style and flair while making a few new friends along the way. With the support of Tour partners, Tai Ping, Veritas, MarineGuard, Hambledon Vineyard, Aston Martin and Sturgess Motor Group, the event will continue this spirit next year in its 10th rendition.
