Late 2012, one of the best known classic superyachts in the world, the 35 metre Sylviana (ex; Ragazza,Hiba,Aruba II) built by CRN Ancona in 1979, changed hands, and was aquired by Sylviana Yachting Ltd., a private family held company. The new owners have commisioned Dutch superyacht designer Guido de Groot to redesign the yacht.
The yacht will undergo an extensive refit, which will include a 4 meter aft extension. In addition she will receive a new modified superstructure, an extended bridge deck lounge, and a completely new upper sun deck.
"A main focus of this project was to increase ceiling heights onboard the vessel and the capacity to store larger tenders", Guido comments. "From a design aesthetic, her lines have been brought up-to-date without neglecting her classic heritage and associative style that is appreciated by so many people".
