A new yacht brand called GX Superyachts has been unveiled at the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Event/224" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Monaco Yacht Show - 2024">Monaco Yacht Show</a> in Port Hercule. With a range of aluminium yachts spanning from 24-metres to 56-metres in length, the brand’s first 42-metre model, the GX42 RPH, is currently in-build. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/329927/image/large-156a8d236f953dbd5298652e1af5cc01.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/329927">GX Superyachts is described as “the brainchild of the team behind <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/7839" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Greenline Yachts (Company)">Greenline Yachts</a>”, a brand that has already been producing yachts under 58-feet for over 15 years.&nbsp;The team harnessed that same experience to provide pioneering hybrid propulsion, a smart hull design, and solar charging for this new range. My goal is to help the team translate their decade-long experience in hybrid recreational boat building into the highly regulated superyacht sector." <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/329925/image/large-8dc7d907fd9eac0055bce16a1a2f3659.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/329925">The goal to expand upon <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/7839" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Greenline Yachts (Company)">Greenline</a>’s commercial and environmental success in the industry first came about during the Monaco Yacht Show 2018, when <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/7839" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Greenline Yachts (Company)">Greenline</a>’s all-electric 9.99m yacht received attention from His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, who requested an escort to the Monaco Yacht Club in the boat.&nbsp;“Each yacht in our GX Superyacht range is equipped with our innovative hybrid propulsion system, allowing for both efficient electric cruising and powerful diesel performance when needed,” explained Chief Commercial Officer, Luca Raumland. “At 6 knots in electric mode, these yachts can achieve an incredible range of up to 100 nautical miles. In diesel mode, they can cross the Atlantic at 12 knots, while the max range is 11571 nautical miles at six knots. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/329924/image/large-951b4eb280110b5c5249acfd2c95f7ba.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/329924">In addition, the GX range strives to have 40 percent fear carbon emissions than that of a conventional yacht. Similarly to <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/7839" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Greenline Yachts (Company)">Greenline Yachts</a>, GX Superyachts are developed to bear an intricate solar array as well a large lithium battery bank, which pair together to allow the yacht to lie silently at anchor for upwards of 48 hours. Throughout this time, full hotel systems including aircon run off the batteries without the need to fire up a generator. Consequently, the vessel is free of noise, vibration or smell from combustion.Construction of the first 42-metre GX42 is underway, as the keel laying ceremony took place on 1 June 2024, and more than 50 percent of her hull has already been welded. The yacht is due to be delivered to her owner in 2026. Collaboration on the first model has been very smooth, and we are looking forward to building more yachts with GX.”<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/329921/image/large-1a01923c335e286ab94157426e3c48af.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/329921">The sleek exterior design of the GX range was imagined by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4335" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Marco Casali Too Design (Company)">Marco Casali</a>, who marries a practical low-profile superstructure with generous interior volumes.Two variants of each model are on offer, with the Coupé version displaying a long, curved superstructure roofed with gleaming solar panels, which slide apart at the touch of a button to expose a huge hidden sun deck containing a Jacuzzi and bar. The challenge around sustainability is particularly close to my heart.”When it comes to the technical blueprint, Francesco Rogantin of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2051" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="NAMES by Francesco Rogantin (Company)">NAMES</a> has penned an underwater long, slim hull that optimises both stability and speed potential. We deployed a powerful suite of tools to achieve this.”GX Superyachts also announced a new line of yachts to join the GX42 RPH, including the GX34 Coupe, the GX34 RPH, the GX42 Coupe and the GX56 Coupe, which boasts an impressive 499 GT of interior volume.
