Ela is the second superyacht to be built to Heesen’s Nova Plus class and platform, which emphasises performance and efficiency. She features an aluminium superstructure and sports the patented Fast Displacement Hull Form from Dutch naval architects, Van Oossanenen Naval Architects. Omega Architect’s Frank Laupman is behind her sleek exterior, which is characterised by her vertical bow and distinct spray rails.Ela yacht on sea trials Christian Gatto Design crafted her interior and worked in close collaboration with Ela’s owner during the three months between purchase and delivery to finalise her interior stylings. On the short but extensive collaboration, Christian Gatto comments, “Together with the client, we revisited all the loose furniture, inside and out, selecting new materials for all the upholstery and the key items from Paola Lenti, B&B Italia, Poltrona Frau, and Promemoria. But more importantly, we designed bespoke pieces, such as tables, sofas, and lamps, all beautifully crafted by Italian ateliers, who delivered them in record time."Ela yacht on sea trials Photo: Dick HolthuisThe sub-500 GT superyacht can accommodate as many as 12 guests across six staterooms, which includes her owners’ suite situated on the main deck forward. Peter van der Zanden, Head of Design and Development at the shipyard, explains, "This, in my opinion, makes the yacht genuinely efficient and more sustainable.” He continues, "We strive to refine our yachts and present the owners with solutions that are at the forefront of technology, to improve efficiency and enhance the on-board experience."
