The 50 metre hybrid superyacht project currently under construction at Heesen Yachts, project Nova, has found an owner with Thom Conboy of Heesen Yachts USA having introduced the client to the shipyard. The all-aluminium yacht, with project number YN 17850, is expected to be ready for delivery in spring 2017.
Novawas developed in partnership with the masterminds at Van Oossanen Naval Architects to successfully employ their efficient Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) into an eye catching and performance styled exterior by Omega Architects. The yacht will be constructed entirely out of aluminium, and is set to deliver unmatched living spaces for a yacht in the sub 500 gross tonnage class.
ProjectNovaalso features an innovative hybrid propulsion system, which allows her to cruise at speeds of up to 9 knots using the generators alone, giving her an impressive fuel consumption of just 45 litres per hour. Furthermore, the hybrid propulsion system will also ensure low noise levels in many areas of the yacht.
