Design New-Build

Heesen has announced its latest yacht project, Aura. Named after philosopher Walter Benjamin’s definition of ‘aura’ — a work of art’s unique presence in time and space — the 50-metre full displacement motor yacht is sub-500 GT and is designed for extended cruising.Aura yacht exterior designPhoto: Heesen YachtsAura has a steel displacement hull designed by Heesen's in-house naval architects who also engineered the vessel’s drag-cheating bulbous bow.

Designer Clifford Denn is responsible for the exterior and has drawn an external form inspired by classic automotive elements with a focus on outdoor spaces and a naval wheelhouse profile for a masculine touch.Aura yacht exterior designPhoto: Heesen YachtsAura’s interior, designed by British studio Reymond Langton Design, is defined by clean lines and surfaces. In total, five staterooms accommodate up to ten guests on the new Heesen yacht, with the owner's suite located forward on the main deck, and the remaining guest cabins down below. White and taupe colours are intended to add “an ethereal elegance” to the interior design, with sharply accented highlights in sea green and deep blue throughout.

Aura's design environment is purposefully chosen to be subtle and adaptable, easily allowing for bespoke features to be applied to the finished design scheme. The yacht’s sundeck comes complete with Jacuzzi, al fresco dining and sun loungers, and she features tender and toys stored on the foredeck. She has a beach club for easy access to the water as well as a fold-out swim platform.
