Heesen Yachts is currently exhibiting at the Singapore Yacht Show, where I spoke with sales director Mark Cavendish.
“Everything considered as it is in the market, I am happy with our performance . Last year we have sold four yachts and this year so far we have sold one 55 metre superyacht. There are quite a few enquiries, mostly from Russia, but recently and maybe as a result of all the work we have been putting in the Far East, we also have some enquiries from China and Far East Asia. We are very keen to develop the Asian market for us, because I don’t know how much business there will be in Europe in the next 5 to 10 years”, said Mark Cavendish.
Heesen Yachts has an office in Penang, Malaysia together with a local agent who has worked together with the shipyard for 20 years now and in the past has sold around 4 to 5 Heesen Yachts.
Asking him about the Singapore Yacht Show, Mark comments: “ It is a bit early to comment about on the visitors as we only had half a day yesterday yet, but we already had 3 to 4 discussions and today I literally just walked on the stand and there was a gentleman from Jakarta who has a 36 metre motor yacht and he was interested in our 40 metre yacht. What more can you ask for ……”
