Chinese shipyard Heysea Yachts has announced the signing of a contract for a new 40 metre catamaran motor yacht. Signed in October of this year, the new owner is the CEO and shareholder of the China Cup International Regatta.
Although detailed information surrounding the new project is scarce, it is known that she will have a steel hull and FRP superstructure. Measuring 40 metres in length, she will also have a beam of 12 metres and a draft of 2.30 metres. Powered by 2 x Volvo 725HP engines, the catamaran will have a maximum speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots.
The vessel is scheduled for delivery in October 2016, exactly two years after the date of her sale. Other projects currently underway at Heysea Yachts include a 28.9 metre vessel scheduled for delivery in September 2015 and a 32.9 metre vessel scheduled for delivery the following month of the same year.
