A yacht fire that broke out at the Antonini Navi shipyard outside La Spezia today caused severe damage to the 34-metre classic Benetti Hidalgo. The vessel was hauled out of the water where refit works are believed to have been carried out on board. Firefighters instantly responded to the scene and no personal injuries have been reported, according to local news source Liguria Nautica. Photo: Giuseppe Orrù / Liguria Nautica
Hidalgo was built in Viareggio in 1968 and last refitted in 2012. Previously known as Mirabella, she was designed for long-distance cruising and can cover some 4,000 nm thanks to generous fuel and water tanks on board.
