Horizon Group Introduces the New Elegance 106 Raised Pilothouse

After the first 120 Raised Pilothouse took to the waves in early 2008, Horizon began working on a brand new model to expand its current Elegance Raised Pilothouse Series and fill in the gap between 97-foot and 120-foot motoryachts. Designed by J.C. Espinosa, the new Elegance 106 Raised Pilothouse inherits the styling themes of the 120RP, which is another impressive masterpiece by J.C. This yacht marries a sophisticated, streamlined look with impressive interior volume and the luxury of numerous accommodation options.

The 106RP shares the same luxurious interior finishes and weight-saving, state-of-the-art construction techniques of all new Horizon yachts. The most notable design change for the 106RP is in her advanced hull shape–the fabulous result is the comfort and enjoyment of high speed cruising.

Unlike most megayachts, which have given up on the pursuit of the speed in exchange for luxury amenities, Horizon’s new Elegance 106RP is designed with an innovative double-chine hull to provide great performance in both low and high speed ranges. For this new hull design, Horizon collaborated with Donald L. Blount and Associates, an internationally recognized naval architecture/marine engineering firm, which specializes in high-speed hull design, structure calculations and stability evaluation, to create a comfortable and efficient high-speed hull. The combination of an optimized structural arrangement and high-tech composite materials also reduced super structure weight, benefiting both speed and stability. For the interior layout, JC conceived an exciting round salon aft, linked by a sleek wet bar to an elegant full-beam dining salon, an adjacent fully-equipped galley with access to the crew quarters below and the very private forward master suite on the main deck. To keep the profile low and pleasing, the master suite’s stunning full-beam bath is recessed a half deck below.

In typical Horizon fashion, the Elegance 106RP offers owners many options, such as the choice of a roomy country kitchen on main deck forward with the master below by choosing among various arrangements for four ensuite staterooms and two crew cabins on the lower deck.

Among the features found on the 106RP are a tender garage, a six-person spa tub, sunbathing pads, day heads on the main deck and flying bridge, BBQ, a relaxing alfresco bar and two outdoor dining venues, a state-of-the-art pilot house and much more.

The new Elegance 106 Raised Pilothouse is another of the exquisite designs from Horizon Group, combining a stylish exterior, well-appointed interior layout, high-tech equipment, and a fast, seaworthy performance.
