First Amels 80 superyacht arrives in the Netherlands for outfitting

Chief Technical Officer at Formula One’s Red Bull Racing team, Adrian Newey OBE has chosen to partner with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1097" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Oyster Yachts (Company)">Oyster Yachts</a> to build his new sailing yacht. The Formula One legend has hopes of sailing the world with a new-build <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1097" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Oyster Yachts (Company)">Oyster</a> 885 yacht model.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/294220/image/large-b5e7bbdfef37bf62a371d2c01fb6f637.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/294220">The 27.4-metre sailing yacht is currently in-build at the shipyard’s Southampton-based headquarters. Alterations have included some re-designing of the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1097" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Oyster Yachts (Company)">Oyster</a> 885’s interior living space to meet his requirements. Keen to operate a vessel that minimises generator use, Newey harnessed his design and motor racing experience to create a hard top bimini.
