Turkish studio Red Yacht Design and Dutch design office Dykstra Naval Architects have teamed up on a new 64-metre futuristic superyacht concept named ICE Kite - a sub 500 GT family-friendly global cruiser. Accompanying the yacht is a purpose-designed 26-metre support vessel named ICE Ghost that will carry essential exploration items.ICE Kite superyacht designPhoto: Red Yacht Design

Developed together with a German entrepreneur, ICE Kite’s defining feature is her kite sailing system that operates in tandem with the low-emission engines on board. The kite system is mounted on the foredeck and can add to the yacht’s efficiency under certain weather conditions. With a low-resistance hull designed much like that of a sailing yacht, ICE Kite will be built on a lightweight aluminium hull with a carbon composite superstructure. ICE Kite superyacht designPhoto: Red Yacht DesignICE Kite superyacht designPhoto: Red Yacht Design

“The main inspiration for the exterior design comes from mother nature,” explains Red Yacht Design. With a total of 475 square metres of open outdoor space, guests have plenty of relaxation options to choose from when on board. The expansive beach club with its cascading waterfall feature and grand staircase leads you down to the water’s edge.ICE Kite superyacht designPhoto: Red Yacht Design

A semi-enclosed sundeck area is lined with borderless glass railings and a full-height glass cockpit known as the Kite lounge on the inside. “This outstanding area has a complete glass surrounding, thus offering a 180 degrees spherical view.”ICE Kite superyacht designPhoto: Red Yacht DesignICE Kite superyacht designPhoto: Red Yacht Design

In terms of accommodation capacity, ICE Kite can welcome up to 10 guests in her four cabins.

A full-beam master cabin enjoys direct access to the main deck through a private entrance and a large ensuite his and hers bathroom. In addition, a full spa area has been incorporated in the design on the lower deck where guests can relax. ICE Ghost support vesselPhoto: Red Yacht Design

As her dedicated support vessel, ICE Ghost follows ICE Kite wherever she goes and is designed to carry a seaplane, manned submersible, 12-metre performance RIB and two jet skis. ICE Ghost support vesselPhoto: Red Yacht Design

“The owner is strongly considering to build both ICE Kite & ICE Ghost at a Dutch Shipyard,” added Red Yacht Design. “More info will be announced after the construction has started.”
