ICON Yachts have announced the order by an experienced yacht owner for the biggest new construction project for the shipyard so far. This new project will have a length in excess of 80 metres, and will be designed by Tim Heywood. She is due for delivery in the summer of 2017.
Jen Wartena, CEO of ICON Yachts comments, “This project will be the largest yacht to date that ICON Yachts has built. We are excited to have been rewarded with the construction of a project with such fantastic pedigree."
The superyacht will feature a helicopter-pad on the foredeck, as well as a full beam owners deck with incredible views. A central stern garage will accommodate a large limousine tender and the spectacular iconic beach club with a large bathing platform will be connected straight to the guest accommodation. An 8- metre pool with a glass bottom will flood the tender bay, which can also function as an internal seawater pool.
Power is provided by a diesel-electric hybrid propulsion set up, and she will be able to reach a top speed of 17 knots.
In October 2014 ICON Yachts had announced a contract to complete the ICON 250 project, which is also designed by Tim Heywood and scheduled for delivery in 2017. The shipyard could not comment in regards to questions of the relationship between the two projects.
