SuperYacht Times chats to Imperial about their groundbreaking charter vessel, the 107-metre Azimut-Benetti superyacht Lana, launched in 2020 and currently one of the largest charter yachts in the world. With a truly trans-Pacific range, her world class interior design and unique divisions of space, Lana is perfectly formed for world cruising and chartering. Here is why Imperial, who helped to turn the owners vision into a reality, believe she is a must for anyone considering a truly exceptional charter experience. Photo: ©Imperial - Jeff Brown / Breed MediaLana was delivered in 2020 and designed to be both a private and charter vessel. What was her owner's vision when he joined forces with Imperial and Azimut-Benetti to create this yacht?
During the initial brief, it was clear that Lana would be like no other vessel. What helped was the participation of the owner in every part of the way – from the initial concept to every step of the construction. The idea was to create the perfect superyacht both for private use and for charter. We had to separate the upper deck, which is the owner’s area, from the other facilities which are used for charter. The essence of our client’s personality is embodied in her design: it’s powerful, firm, precise and confident. The combination of the utmost comfort in the guest areas and quality of services available onboard is a success we take pride in.Photo: ©Imperial - Jeff Brown / Breed MediaWith Imperial having worked closely alongside the design team, what were the considerations when creating a vessel of this size destined for charter?
From the beginning of the project, we always knew we wanted Lana to be one of the most exclusive charter superyachts on the market. We had to consider all aspects of the luxury that superyachts are known for and to go beyond that. Imperial’s experience in the tailor-made charter was a real asset during the design stage. Together with the help of Benetti’s design team, we were able to exceed all the expectations. Built-in cutting-edge facilities by expert craftsmen, Lana represents utmost luxury. Photo: ©Imperial - Jeff Brown / Breed MediaHer very sharp, horizontally stretched design emphasises grace and separates her from the rest. Comfort is guaranteed for the guests by the definition of specific areas for relaxation, fun, conviviality, and privacy. Her 2.7-metre ceilings make her feel more like home than a yacht. We also allocated areas for different needs of comfort: relaxation, privacy, activities and rest times areas. Guests may enjoy all types of facilities such as the beach area, the large hammam, and the various outside spaces. Lana is a true example of excellence, every detail of which is made to enjoy an unforgettable charter experience.Photo: ©Imperial - Jeff Brown / Breed MediaWith her impressive range of 5,500 nautical miles at 16 knots, Lana truly has explorer worthy capacity. Is there an option for charterers to really venture to the further reaches while aboard?
Lana can go to some remote or rare regions like North Europe, Red Sea where she is particularly popular, as well as the Indian Ocean and the Caribbean. What would you consider Lana’s five top features to be for potential charter guests?
There are many stand-out elements to Lana, from her extraordinary spa, with its own zen area and massage room, a fully equipped beauty salon, hammam and wet massage room, to her 8-metre long swimming pool. Her 33-strong crew, each with their own set of skills, work as a team to create the perfect environment for every type of charter guest and help to make the vessel feel like home.Photo: ©Imperial - Jeff Brown / Breed MediaHer fully equipped gym and cinema room are hugely popular with charter guests, allowing you to retain your routine, or kick back and relax. Then there is the unique and entirely bespoke interior, with jaw-dropping features, such as the spiral staircase and the grand-piano in the owners stateroom.Photo: ©Imperial - Jeff Brown / Breed MediaLana’s interior design has some unique features, such as bespoke interior aesthetics for each of the staterooms. How do characteristics like this accentuate the yacht's luxurious design?
The attention to every detail is what sets Lana apart from other vessels. We focused on the atmosphere that differs in every stateroom, the overall aesthetics of the interior, and such unique details as the foyer with a floor-to-ceiling chandelier. All those elements make the luxurious design feel special. Lanais a place of authentic individuality and character. The interior is luxurious but not aggressive, opulent but accessible, and we are sure that all charter guests will enjoy that just as much as the owner. For more information, contact Ekaterina Pavlova, Senior Charter Broker at Imperial:
