New York based yacht design studio Impossible Productions has designed a new 100 metre hybrid explorer yacht concept in partnership with Tim Dempers Studio in Cape Town, South Africa. The project development lasted over 12 months, designed specifically for an owner with global exploration in mind, yet remains open to be adapted as needed by the client.
The end result is a multifunction platform that provides a reconfigurable cargo deck with two striking accommodation pods on either side. The cargo deck is designed to house a range of on board necessities such as a sea plane, cars, motorcycles, a sailing yacht or even shipping containers, depending on the area of operation and intended usage by the owner. The tenders and helicopter are stowed in sealed climate controlled environments to protect from exterior elements.
With regards to the interior areas, the two pods offer 360 degree views over the deck areas and surroundings, making these the perfect sightseeing areas while cruising through towering fjords, or past icy Arctic landscapes. The forward pod is dedicated to navigation and expedition planning purposes. The aft pod is dedicated to owner’s use.
