Amels has announced that its first Amels 200 sold to a client represented by Burgess this week as the yard continues construction on the vessel that will be ready for delivery in spring 2021. Following in the footsteps of the Amels 188 Volpini 2 from 2018, this latest Amels 200 (one of two currently under construction) comes with an increased overall length compared to its sistership.Photo: Amels
The Amels 200 comes with the same sophisticated hybrid and power management systems as the Amels 188 along with a new full-height window design in the master suite forward on the main deck. The sun deck offers an enclosed climate-controlled gym area that can be reached via the yacht’s elevator that connects its four interior guest decks. Photo: Amels
Designed by Tim Heywood, the yacht’s unique interior design is the work of Reymond Langton. “The AMELS 200 is inspired, like all my work, by nature," explained Heywood. "The design echoes a cruising swan ruffling her feathers. The sweeping profile lines are enhanced by the twists in the surfaces, which give her an enriched and interesting form with light and shade effects to each deck level."
Photo: AmelsBuilt according to IMO Tier III emissions regulations, the Amels 200 complies to some of the strictest requirements set by the International Maritime Association. With a cruising speed of 15.5 knots, the yacht will be able to cover a range of 4,500 nm at an economical speed of 13 knots.
