Over the last 18 months, Amico & Co has invested around €7,000,000 into their facilities, €6 million of which was dedicated to the dry-dock project. The remaining €1,000,000 was used to develop the electrical dock system of the shipyard from 1,9MW to 5,3MW.
The new 102 metre dry-dock has been designed and built in 16 months and is equipped with a retractable shed, heating, ventilation and emission treatment systems for painting work.
The shipyard is taking the opportunity to specialise in the world maintenance, refit & repair market for yachts from 60 up to 140 metres, aiming to become one of the industry’s most important players. To achieve this, the company states, “Reliability is the first quality recognised by our customers and this is our first marketing tool.”
Since the completion of the new facilities, the shipyard has worked on 17 projects on yachts over 50 metres, 9 of which have already used the dry-dock facilities.
