The first YA! event kicked off in Monaco recently, in a ceremony attended by the Minister of State, the Italian Ambassador to Monaco and many key Italian figures. L’Art de Vivre la Mer à bord exhibition is by invitation only, and until the 5th october, eleven superyachts over 25 metres in length will welcome collectors, owners and Yacht Club de Monaco members to see exhibitions of works by modern and contemporary artists.
The exhibitions are on display along Quai Louis I, aboard yachts in the YCM Marina and in the Yacht Club de Monaco’s lounges. The event has been organised by the Yacht Club de Monaco as part of the Principality’s 3rd edition of Il Mese dela Cultura e dela Lingua Italiana, promoting Italian culture and language, in collaboration with the Italian Ambassador to rediscover the richness of this country’s culture.
One of the artists on display will be Katharina Fritsch, a German visual artist and author of an internationally famous work. She comments, “Many of my sculptures exist as an immaterial image which suddenly emerges in my mind. It’s like a vision. I think in images.”
People strolling along Quai Louis I will discover monumental Sculptures by Gianfranco Megiato and Xhixha Helidon, whilst other exhibitions will be hosted over the following days.
