International Yacht Bureau announces the first commercial certification of a Westship 140

International Yacht Bureau (IYB) recently finalized the commercial certification of the Marshall Islands‐flagged motor yacht Monaliza, a 140’ Westship Yacht. This internationally recognized approval for safety and pollution prevention allows the yacht to operate as a commercially‐registered yacht. She is the first Westship Yacht to achieve this status worldwide.

The series of intensive plan reviews, hull and machinery examinations, safety and lifesaving equipment inspections, and crew skills’ demonstrations were completed over several months under the supervision of surveyors from IYB. Monaliza is commanded by Capt. Scot Rosburg. Naval architecture services, including testing and documentation for the stability information book, were provided by Murray & Associates of Fort Lauderdale.
