International Yacht Bureau (IYB) recently finalized the commercial certification of the Marshall Islands‐flagged motor yacht Golden Compass, a 151’ / 46m built by Cantieri Navali Picchioti and previously known as Southerly.
This internationally recognized approval for safety and pollution prevention allows the superyacht to operate as a commercially‐registered yacht. The series of intensive plan reviews, hull and machinery examinations, safety and lifesaving equipment inspections, and crew skills’ demonstrations were completed during an extensive refit under the supervision of surveyors from IYB.
Golden Compass is commanded by Capt. Fernando Silvano. Yacht Management and shoreside support are provided by International Yacht Collection. Naval architecture services, including testing and documentation for the stability information book, were provided by Murray & Associates of Fort Lauderdale.
