Italian architecture and design company Luxury Projects were responsible for the luxurious interior designs on board 26.21 metre superyacht Yolo launched earlier this year by Cantiere delle Marche. Great attention was paid to every single area of the vessel which featured a custom layout from the standard Nauta Air 86’ version, with an aft salon, forward dining and four cabins in total.
Inside, Yolo’s interiors are dominated by different textures of leathers, fabrics and wood as well as natural nuances of white and browns, with dashes of green and blues throughout. The company notes the pleasure of being given the opportunity to experiment with materials rarely used on board yachts, stating the stone panels in the aft staircase to the owner’s area, the cork mirror frame in the bathroom, the VIP glass doors with inlaid silk wires and the horn details of the salon shelves and cabinet handles all as particularly exciting demonstrations of this opportunity.
In regards to her accommodation, the full beam owner’s area is abundant in natural light thanks to large windows. Glass doors divide the cabin from the wide shower in travertino custom-designed tiles, heightening the sense of space. The headboard in this cabin is custom design woven goat leather produced by Luxury Projects. Passing by the wheelhouse, the second staircase of the yacht leads to the elegant VIP cabin in blue color tones, and then onto the green twin cabin. She also boasts a fully-custom lighting system which uses state-of the art LEDs in different white colour temperatures as well as a custom entertainment system throughout.
Just some of her additional amenities on board include a gym and spa area. The wide and well equipped gym connects to the spa area with a ‘wellness path’ which follows through to a relaxing shower and hammam.
Elsewhere inside, the cosy salon flaunts asymmetrical spaces, with a large relaxation area forward and a custom lounge sofa located directly opposite the television. The sophisticated dining area is located on the aft port side just behind the galley and provides the ideal space for fine dining and socialising. The galley is custom designed in a white lacquered wood and with the top in silestone material - the same of which is used for the bar counter outside. This creates a continuity of material from outdoor to indoor, further emphasised by the large window in the galley acting as a direct serving facility.
The sundeck offers an incredible amount of space for guests, and designers at Luxury Projects have created several different areas to enjoy lounging in the sun, the best of al fresco dining, complete relaxation and socialisation. A Jacuzzi is found next to a large sunpad, while a comfortable sofa is position mid-ship opposite the bar and BBQ grill.
One of the most exciting outdoor areas, however, is the amazing forward sunpad on the main deck. This area features atmospheric lighting and backlit biminis which, combined with the high quality sound system, makes this the perfect space to enjoy cruising.
Although the completed yacht is a great success, Luxury Projects note that there were several challenging aspects of the project, particularly in merging very specific requests from the owner in regards to already planned or built structures. This meant that designers were required to almost re-invent the existing furniture functions and spaces in order to meet the owner’s requests. Laura Pomponi, CEO and Founder of Luxury Projects says: “Thanks to the owner’s trust, with my team we had a real chance to express all our creativity and new ideas during the entire design process. We really worked closely with the owner following his strict requirements from the spaces to the lighting effects to the colors, and creating for him special warm and cosy interiors up to the custom-crafted paintings on the walls.”
