Introduced to the market last week is Heesen’s new 55-metre Project Gemini (YN 19755), which is the latest yacht in the yard’s 55m Steel range along with Solemates and Pollux. Frank Laupman of Omega Architects penned the geometric exterior lines of the series alongside Heesen’s in-house engineers. With the project currently under construction, the team will work together to see that her hull and superstructure are joined in March 2021.

Photo: Heesen YachtsItalian designer Luca Dini Design & Architecture was appointed to create a “zen” interior decor for the yacht’s 400+ square meters of indoor space that includes materials such as warm full-gloss Tay wood and natural stone matched with marine leather and fabric ceilings.

Photo: Heesen YachtsInside, up to twelve guests are to be accommodated in six staterooms, including an 83-square-metre owner’s apartment on the main deck forward that features his-and-hers walk-in wardrobes and a bathroom with a freestanding black bathtub. Two twin and two double suites are to be located on the lower deck, while a VIP cabin will be on the bridge deck.

Photo: Heesen YachtsIn the main saloon, two large bronze-mirrored ceiling panels reflect light and large sofas take up the centre of the room alongside a formal 12-seater dining table located amidships. The full-beam sky lounge features a lounge area with a TV and a bar and is connected to the sundeck which is completed by a Jacuzzi, sunpads, dining space and lounge.

Thanks to two MTU 8V 4000 M63 IMO Tier-III diesel engines, Project Gemini will reach a top speed of 15.5 knots and have a transatlantic range of 4,500 nautical miles when travelling at 13 knots.
