ISA Yachts, set up in 2001, has delivered 25 yachts, and currently employs a workforce of 160 people. The Italian yard has recently been bestowed by Bureau Veritas, the world's leading certification body with a core business of conformity assessment, with the OHSAS 18001 certification.
The OHSAS 18001 certification is the international standard giving requirements related to health and safety management systems. ISA is the first superyacht builder to receive this certification.
In-depth audits by Bureau Vertitas and many hours spend by the certification body at the yard checking procedures and applications, have now insured that ISA workers, and sub-contracted companies can now work in a Bureau Veritas certified yard meeting BS OHSAS 18001:2007 standards.
Bureau Veritas lead auditor Eng. Maurizio Nannini concludes "The company has shown that they have undertaken this virtuous path in the management of a system protecting worker health and safety. They have done so professionally and with great commitment. The 18001 certification will be further proof of the desire expressed by ISA to maintain this path of continuous improvement towards excellence in the management of accident prevention systems".
