Ever greater attention being given to safety in the workplace is resulting in companies undertaking rigorous training courses and growth that culminates in certification of conformity with safety standards that is valid nationally and internationally.
In particular, ISA, a leading Italian pleasure boating company of significant size based in Ancona has formally launched a virtuous process that will result in OHSAS 18001:2007 certification during 2009. This is the most far-reaching standard for managing health and safety in the workplace.
“The 2007 version of the OHSAS 18001 standard is a particularly effective instrument as it combines health and safety in the workplace with management and aims to gradually reduce risks along the lines of ongoing improvement,” said Marco Mari of Bureau Veritas Italia.
