International Yacht Collection (IYC) has announced the recent appointments of Jennifer Howarth—International Crew Placement Director—and Katya Jaimes—Yacht Charter Agent. As IYC continues consolidation of its global services portfolio for an increasingly global clientele, the addition of both Howarth and Jaimes is further evidence of the firm’s long-standing reputation for innovation.
“In today’s superyacht marketplace, the need for well rounded services is critical,” says Bob Saxon, IYC’s President. “The effort needs to take place both onboard and in the global yachting community. Having Jennifer work on the re-establishment and new management practices of our crew placement service will aid our owners in effective yacht management. With her rich heritage—which includes hailing from Russia—Katya brings IYC a diverse cultural experience which is critical for our Eastern European clients. Jennifer’s appointment and having Katya join the IYC team further enables IYC to develop new business and stay even closer to our customers in the effective management of their yachts,” he continues.
Jennifer Howarth began her yachting career as a stewardess aboard such recognizable yachts as Oasis, Capri, and Private Lives from 2004-2007. Her land-based yachting career began in early 2008 at Fraser Yachts, Monaco where she spent three years as a Charter Manager, managing a fleet of 18 high profile internationally owned yachts. In addition to client services and organizing Charter Shows in Genoa and Antigua, Jennifer successfully implemented sales strategies and charter fulfillment by exacting attention to details affecting owners, captains and crew. She joined IYC in April 2011 as a Charter Manager.
Direct experience at sea and successful charter management skills make Jennifer ideally suited to build IYC’s crew placement services. In her new role, she is responsible for understanding client needs; recruiting and reviewing candidates; marketing and interactive media management; and managing position requirements and remuneration. In addition, she will oversee IYC’s increased involvement in the crew placement discipline by establishing best business practices and managing the division.
Katya Jaimes comes to IYC from Northrop and Johnson Yachts and Ships. More poignantly, she was born and educated in Siberia, Russia; while superyachts are scarce as the closest ocean is thousands of miles away, Katya’s command of Russian culture and language is an invaluable asset to IYC as Eastern European clients and Russians become increasingly viable markets.
In time spent at Ocean Blue Management in New York, Katya gained well rounded and critical experience with luxury brands for UNHWI (Ultra High Net Worth Individuals), including private aviation and luxury hotels.
As an IYC Yacht Charter Agent, Katya is able to unite the superyacht industry with other luxury industries. Her initial contribution resulted in IYC’s much heralded Scarlet Sails Night, a partnership between IYC, CSI and Opulence Magazine. Held aboard Trinity Yachts 191’ (58.23m) Carpe Diem, the Russian theme catered to IYC’s expanding international superyacht client base and the growth of Miami’s Russian community. Festivity amenities included iconic Russian fare: fine caviar, vodka, traditional music and high fashion.
