The J Class Association has announced that Solent Rib Charter (SRC) has been chosen as the official Rib partner for this summer’s regattas. Having one official partner organisation will allow closer communication between the JCA and spectator Ribs, leading to safer on the water operations and better viewing for spectators.
Solent Rib Charter is Europe’s largest Rib Charter Operator with over 30 Ribs. They are an official Rib supplier for, among others, 2012 Olympic Games, Volvo Ocean Race, Cowes Week, and the America’s Cup.
Richard Ward, Director of SRC stated “This is a great partnership with the JCA at such an exciting event. We can offer our fleet to those wanting to watch the racing, and our experience and knowledge of big events to the J Class Association for marshalling duties. Spectators are welcome to book individual places or charter a private boat”.
Solent Rib Charter will take on the responsibility for providing Rib charter for spectators and the press, dealing with enquiries and ticketing, as well as carrying out marshalling duties. SRC’s experience at large, prestigious events with supporters and press convinced the JCA that they would provide a safer experience for everybody on the water. Additionally, it was essential for the JCA to partner with a company capable of handling numerous enquiries to watch the fleet racing, leaving the Association to concentrate on the race programme!
