It also further establishes the personal submarine’s position – not just as a toy for the superrich – but a viable tool that can advance human understanding and excitement for the ocean, bringing important discoveries back to everyone."OceanXplorer Triton Submarines Photo: Taj HoweThe launch event was hosted by the Los Angeles Museum of Natural History, marking the 10 year anniversary of James Cameron’s dive with the DEEPSEA CHALLENGER submarine to the Mariana Trench.OceanXplorer Triton Submarine Photo: Andy MannThe aim of this new and exciting partnership is to bring new and unique opportunities that aims to build submarines with even deeper capabilities, that can stay underwater for longer and therefore further elevate the possibilities of underwater exploration. This will be accomplished in the years ahead via testing of new materials, in-house development of enhanced battery technologies and new design partners.

Triton has recently announced a number of exciting partnerships, most notably with the Monaco-based yacht designer Espen Øino, who has designed a series of radical new submarines for the superyacht market. They have also created a series of concept superyacht designs with submarine launch and recovery capabilities in collaboration with world-famous support yacht builder, ShadowCat.
