French shipbuilder JFA Yachts has sold a 50-metre Aluminium Explorer superyacht. Construction on the project will commence this Autumn with an expected delivery in 2024.JFA 50M Aluminium Explorer The explorer superyacht features an exterior design as well as naval architecture from Humphreys Yacht Design. Her aesthetic is dominated by the extensive use of glazing, which also provides natural ample light to her interior. The superyacht will have a light displacement and is equipped with a hybrid propulsion system. The explorer’s interior is the work of m2atelier, which will reflect the superyacht’s long-range autonomy and use as a family cruiser.

The construction of the superyacht will be overseen by A2B Marine Projects. Christian Poorte, the owner’s project manager commented, “To work so closely with the client and understand his wishes, the search for the right team and shipyard is a very important journey. Building a yacht is not simply asking for a building slot, but it requires a solid base for a multi-year collaboration on all levels within a shipyard organisation. The special requirements and needs of a client to accommodate differ for every project. It became clear for me that JFA Yachts could offer the dedicated approach and versatility that was required to build this unique vessel.”JFA 50M Aluminium Explorer The superyacht will be constructed with an aluminium hull and superstructure, partially in composite glass epoxy, and is the first of its kind to be built by JFA. She is equipped with twin MTU engines.
