Jongert's sixth 2700M christened Icarus

With a festive ceremony at the medieval Radboud castle in Medemblik, the Netherlands, the sixth yacht in the successful JONGERT 2700M series was christened Icarus. The christening ceremony was on Saturday, July 28th.

The 27 meter all aluminium yacht is the next step in the ever improving series of yachts based upon the hull designed by Doug Peterson. Jongert's yard number 425 Icarus has a 35 meter carbon fibre mast, supported by rod rigging in combination with a PBO fore stay and back stay. The deck saloon has a roof that completely slides open. Cockpit settees transform into sunbathing lounges. The interior is styled in whitewashed teak with brushed stainless steel detailing, creating a light, modern atmosphere. With her metallic dark grey hull coating, Icarus reflects class and at the same time glances the sailing performance she is capable of.

The yacht will be taken out for sea trials in the coming weeks.
