With last year marking a number of important legal changes in the EU VAT status of large yachts visiting and operating in the Mediterranean, MYBA - The Worldwide Yachting Association, has decided to use the occasion of the International Superyacht Society (ISS) organised ‘Seminars Programme’ at the forthcoming Antibes Yacht Show, to discuss and debate the key issues concerned.
Taking place between 1.30pm - 2.30pm on Friday 25th April and comprising an invited panel of four leading exponents on EU VAT, this timely and topical ‘Round Table’ debate entitled ‘EU VAT – Where We Stand Today’ is free to attend and intended for brokers, charter professionals and anyone with a vested interest in the fiscal management and implications therein for yachts operating within EU waters.
The group will seek to discuss and debate the most important EU VAT issues between them, whilst reserving time to receive and answer as many questions as possible from the floor.
VAT experts panel will include:
Freddy Desplanques, EU & French VAT expert, lawyer, Ince & Co, France
James Gopsill, EU VAT/Fiscal lawyer, Gateley LLP, UK
Franc Jansen, Director, Hill Robinson
David Reardon, Partner, Hill Dickinson
Chaired by Fiona Maureso, Charter Director at Northrop and Johnson and current MYBA Vice President, this important EU VAT open debate will seek to highlight and understand the net effects of latest VAT amendments about to make their biggest impact in this, the first full year of yachting under the new rules.
Antibes Yacht Show Seminars take place at the Seminar Centre, Port Vauban on Quay Camille Rayon (Billionaires' Quay).
