 International Marine Management (IMM) has announced the acquisition of Atlantic Refit Center (ARC) in La Rochelle, France.

French lawmakers from the left-wing political party La France Insoumise (LFI) have introduced a private member's bill that would prohibit privately operated yachts measuring 50 metres or more from accessing French seaports, using berths or remaining in the country's territorial waters.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/397767/image/large-9063ab1c035f6a255de903aeb73293ff.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/397767">Submitted to the French National Assembly on 23 June by deputy Thomas Portes and fellow LFI members, the proposal has been referred to committee for consideration, but has not been adopted and remains at an early stage of the legislative process.If enacted, the legislation would prohibit recreational yachts of 50 metres and above from entering French ports or remaining in French territorial waters, with exemptions for circumstances including maritime distress, severe weather, medical emergencies or serious damage to the vessel.The proposed legislation would introduce significant penalties for breaches, with courts able to impose fines ranging from one to 15 percent of a yacht's estimated value.
