Latest J Class addition Svea arrives in the Med

Written by Charl van Rooy

The new 43.6-metre J Class sailing yacht Svea has arrived in Mediterranean waters where she will be spending the summer season. The Vitters-built modern classic landed in Palma de Mallorca earlier this month as the Dutch yachting brandโ€™s first completed J Class vessel.

Svea was developed in cooperation with Claasen Shipyards, and Hoek Design used the original drawings by Tore Hom from 1937 to redesign the yachtโ€™s lines and construction plans. deVosdeVries Design took over the design of the interior spaces following the sad passing of Pieter Beeldsnijder last year.

Ready for a season of racing, we look forward seeing Svea in action and soon battling it out on the water with her fellow J Class sisters.
