Latest news from the Superyacht Cup

There are just three months to go before the largest fleet of Superyachts ever gather in Palma de Mallorca for The Superyacht Cup Ulysse Nardin. Currently 44 yacht entries are confirmed from around the world, from classic schooners to the latest technology light-weight racing maxis. Two of the yachts, Y3K and Meteor I are still in final stages of construction and will be joining the Superyacht Cup for their debut performance. Y3K is the next yacht to be launched by the successful Italian builders WallyEurope, the 100' sloop being a direct development from the Owner's previous Wally yacht, the 94' also called Y3K. As a complete contrast, another new boat to be shown at The Superyacht Cup will be the 51m schooner Meteor I, currently being built in the Royal Huisman Shipyard in Holland.

Whilst the Yacht Owners and Captains make their preparations and regatta plans, the Organisers of The Superyacht Cup are busy confirming details for the four day event both on and off the water. The SYC Village plans are taking shape, and a total of 15,000m square metres of covered area incorporating the SYC and New Zealand Millennium Cup Marquee, the SYC Crew Bar, sponsor pavilions and VIP area are being planned. The latest sponsors to be announced at the Silver Level are North Sails, Holland Jachtbouw, OYS, Doyle Sailmakers, Oscar Sierra and E3. Portcall Yacht & Ship Agents have also been appointed Official Agents to provide the visiting yachts assistance with anything from container shipping and clearance, to dockage bookings (before and after the event) and special deliveries.

The Superyacht Cup incorporating The New Zealand Millennium Cup is expecting up to 60 yachts over 30m LOA. It will be held at Dique del Oeste in Palma, Mallorca, June 16 -19th 2007.
