One of the best known luxury brands at the Qatar International Boat Show is Ulysse Nardin. We met up with Christophe Chorao, Area Manager Middle East.
“When I started here in the Middle East twelve years ago, there really was nothing yet. At that time, we were producing just 7.000 pieces, and our best markets were Russia and the USA. Slowly but carefully we developed new markets, and today we produce 26.000 pieces, which is still a limited production. The Middle East represents 20 % of our general turnover, which is excellent for a mechanical watch. We are not a jewelry watch maker, in the Middle East we see lots of watches full of stones, diamonds - no we make mechanical watches. Today I can say that I am very satisfied with my sale results in Middle East”.
“There is still a lot to do in Qatar, thats why we decided to be the official timekeeper of Qatar show, which we do to boost the brand awareness around Qatar. We are also official timekeeper for the Beirut Yacht show, and the Kuwait Yacht Show, and I am working to get even more new yacht shows to sponsor, on top of the Monaco show, and Singapore, of which we are also the official sponsor”.
