Michael Breman, Sales Director at Lürssen Yachts, shares his thoughts on the Asian market and the importance of an event such as the Singapore Yacht Show.
How important is the SYS to Lürssen?
This is very important to us. We would like to continue to establish the brand in the Asian region, and the Singapore Yacht Show is a good platform to do it. The show attracts not only local people, but also visitors from the entire South East Asian region which makes this a great opportunity to showcase Lürssen.
Its only Day 1 here at the SYS 2016, but what are your thoughts on the show so far?
The event is always well organised. It is certainly much warmer than last year which might affect the visitor attendance throughout the day, but we do look forward to what the show might bring over the next four days.
In addition to your attendance here at the SYS, what else is Lürssen doing to pomote the brand and the yachting industry within the region?
We often travel to various countries in Asia to meet with individuals in order to expand our reach. In the past we have also been involved in the Hainan Rendezvous in China.
Are you anticipating an increase in interest from the region within the near future?
We always like to stay optimistic. Certainly the global scene is not as strong as it once was and the affects are felt here in Asia as well. But from what we have learnt is that one needs to be patient, and perhaps even more so in the Asian market.
