To be presented at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show is a new forward-thinking 110-metre superyacht concept by the Italian design studio Lobanov Design. As the designers behind the 85-metre Oceanco superyacht St. Princess Olga and unconventional Phoenicia and Star superyacht projects, the studio has continued their out-of-the-box approach with their new SHY project.
Lobanov did away with the conformist style of superstructures and designed SHY with no visible horizontal deck spaces on the outside. Instead, the superstructure is wrapped by a series of ribbons that provides a characteristic styling feature as well as an added level of privacy to guests onboard. Igor Lobanov relied on his skills in the field of mathematics and inspirations through nature to arrive at a structured and well thought out rhythm in which these strips are placed.
The studio's largest project to date, hull Y714, is in the final stages of construction at Oceanco right now and is expected to become another Lobanov brand ambassador, soon.
More information on project SHY, and four other brand new designs by the studio, will be made public in Monaco later this month.
