Italian designer Luca Dini has unveiled two new superyacht designs, made for Benetti's Innovation project. Following the proposal received from Benetti Luca Dini decided to design two concepts: a 55 and 72 metres.
"With these two concepts dedicated to the Benetti Design Innovation project I had, for the first time, the opportunity to work with Benetti" Luca Dini commented. "I think this wonderful chance came for me at the right moment: Benetti has 140 years of story and so you can’t "deal" with it if you don’t have gained a long-standing experience in your life. So, after 20 years of career and about 60 boats built, I approached these projects with a great respect for Benetti and what it represents, with the awareness however that I could say something new, projected into the future."
"For the 55 we choose the glass as main element: the structure appears as a decorative wrap around the glass. In addition, forasmuch as the environmental sustainability and the energy saving are now fundamental themes, we have inserted some photovoltaic panels on the roof of the wheelhouse in order to provide a good percentage of the energy the boat needs."
Glass plays a leading role even in the aft deck where a large window, whose shape reminds the porthole cabins, gives birth to a gym. The look of the boat is masculine, featuring many edges and corners, further enhanced by a vertical bow.
Luca continues: "For 72 meters instead we took as starting point the typical external superstructure lines of Benetti. Around this stylistic feature we developed the design of the boat. The innovative stern includes two decks and can be closed for privacy through an electrically aluminium venetian blind."
"Drawing inspiration from the skyscrapers where the glass is used to rejects heat and the glass embedded terraces are retractable, we designed the full height glass side. The overall look of the boat is powerful and sporty with sinuous and soft lines".
The interior of the 72 metre yacht is designed by Stefano Ricci. "It is a great honor for us to introduce our concept in the yachting world through a partnership with a leading shipyard like Benetti" said Filippo Ricci Creative Director. "After this launch in Monte Carlo, we have planned major presentations at yacht industry’s main events and at our flagship stores worldwide."
“We are very proud to count Stefano Ricci among our Partners" added Vincenzo Poerio, CEO of Azimut/Benetti’s Mega-Yacht Business Unit. "I believe this collaboration to be particularly consistent with Benetti’s brand philosophy, as like us Stefano Ricci is a worldwide ambassador of Italian style and an expression of the highest level of craftsmanship excellence”.
