At the Antigua Charter Yacht Meeting David Price of Hill Robinson invited me for lunch on the 57 metre Diamond A (formerly Ultima III), as he was convinced that Head Chef Duncan Thomson and Chef Adam Rice would surprise me with some delicious cuisine. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/133503/image/large-fef82b20722cbd8ffbc2d154d2810f66.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/133149">We were welcomed onboard with Champagne by Captain Owen Jones in the main saloon of the yacht and he told us more about the yacht’s history. Her current owners purchased the yacht in 2009 and she subsequently underwent a major refit in Miami. During the refit, among other work, all the Audio-Visual Systems were upgraded and Quantum Zero Speed Stabilisers were installed. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/133504/image/large-28791c87f39c5098be9e5b146a925031.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/133504">After the captain had given us the tour, we took our places at the large round main dining table, which was beautifully set by Chief Stewardess Lana Greenwood and her team. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/133505/image/large-d1b3e519af957596564ef52edbbdab17.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/133505">We started with Seared Spanish Mackarel with Tomato Vinaigrette, Celery Seed, and Micro Celery and next came the main course; a Whole Roasted Sea Bass, Endive Braised in Orange Juice, Almonds, Saffron, and Champagne infused Green Grapes. The last course, but definitely not the least, was the dessert; Lemon Tartlette, Bruleed Meringue, Cardamom and Coconut Ice Cream with Pine Nut Praline. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/133506/image/large-0ca2f4e400da03fa6d5554f155c6afb7.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/133506">Not only was the food, prepared by chefs Duncan and Adam, delicious but the quality of the service was outstanding as well. With a length of 57 metres, the German build yacht offers all the space and toys for a relaxed vacation in the Caribbean and the fantastic crew will make sure it will be an unforgettable experience. The famous Vasa Museum is one of Scandinavia’s most visited museums, home to a multitude of maritime exhibitions and displaying the 64 gun warship Vasa, the best-preserved 17th-century ship, salvaged after sinking on her maiden voyage in 1628.Scandinavia’s beauty lies in its contrasts. Thousands of untouched islands lie in the archipelagos of Sweden and the Åland Islands. Just an overnight cruise from Stockholm, the Åland Islands are an autonomous Finnish archipelago situated in the Baltic Sea between Sweden and Finland. The Åland Islands are as beautiful as they are remote; of the 6,700 islands in the archipelago, only around 60 are inhabited. Josh Francis, charter broker at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4507" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="TJB Super Yachts (Company)">TJB</a>, set the scene: “As a cruising destination, the Maldives offers an experience different to anywhere else on earth. Here, the sand is a dazzling shade of white, contrasting the rich greenery on land.&nbsp;“I would recommend anyone to get PADI certified before travelling, as scuba diving in the Maldives is some of the world’s best,” commented Josh Francis. The country’s various lagoons and Protected Marine Areas are famed for having some of the world’s best snorkelling sites overflowing with sea life. Debra Blackburn, charter broker at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/158" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Fraser (Company)">Fraser Yachts</a> told SYT “Visiting St. Barths feels as if you’ve stopped at the St. Tropez of the Caribbean. One of the most popular islands of the French West Indies, St Barths oozes a luxury feel that can be experienced in its lavish resorts and glistening bars and eateries. She continued, “Time spent here is filled with amazing dining, world-class shopping and nightlife to rival the best of the South of France.”Further west is the British Virgin Islands, comprising over 60 islands and cays waiting to be explored. Igniting visions of turquoise waters, desert islands and pirate legends, a visit to the BVI on a superyacht guarantees the ultimate tranquil escapism. For Abigail Davies of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/244" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="IYC (Company)">IYC</a>, “The beauty of Grenada is the abundance of unspoilt landscapes, diverse wildlife and vibrant Caribbean culture while remaining more low key in comparison to some of the more popular Caribbean destinations.” From visiting majestic waterfalls, such as the sheer and beautiful Concord Falls to the west of the island, to seeing Mona monkeys in their natural habitat, guests in Grenada feel transported to a tropical paradise.The country’s capital, St George, has a laid-back island pace and is regarded among many as the prettiest Caribbean capital. Guests can wander the narrow streets of this harbour town, framed by colourful frontages and palm trees.
