The new 55.5-metre Lürssen 13800, the German yard's smallest superyacht since 1995, set off on a series of sea trials on the Baltic Sea this week where the yacht will be tested ahead of delivery to her experienced owner. The custom superyacht features a full design by Bannenberg & Rowell, including a bespoke interior that covers three decks.Project 13800 by Lürssen on sea trialsPhoto: Charl van RooyProject 13800 by Lürssen on sea trialsPhoto: Charl van Rooy

The design of the vessel was inspired by 1973 Lürssen Carinthia VI designed by Bannenberg Snr. "Every centimetre of interior and exterior space usage has to be presented, discussed and agreed with the owners, and this has led to many inspiring discussions," commented Dickie Bannenberg during the yacht's launch in April this year.
