First look: Lürssen’s secretive 107m superyacht Icecap in Germany

Lürssen Yachts' 107-metre superyacht Icecap has been seen for the first time after her wrapping was removed earlier this week. She is being constructed at the Peene-Werft shipyard in Wolgast, Germany, which belongs to Lürssen's naval division NVL Group, and has been kept tightly under wraps until now.Project Icecap yacht under construction The superyacht is expected to offer close to 6,000 GT of interior volume. Salt Ship Design was the studio behind her exterior lines and naval architecture. Project Icecap yacht under construction The superyacht Icecap has been constructed with a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure. She is expected to be equipped with three Wärtsilä engines. Once completed, Icecap will be amongst the world’s top-100 largest superyachts.

The project was sold in March 2018 by Moran Yacht & Ship. At the time of her sale, the US-based brokerage house announced that "this superb ship will feature state-of-the-art energy saving, power storage, heating and cooling, and will be powered by a diesel-electric propulsion package making her one of the most advanced motor yachts ever to be built."Icecap explorer yacht by LürssenPhoto: LurssenIcecap explorer yacht by LürssenIcecap has an expected 2023 delivery date.
