The 70.7-metre Lürssen superyacht Skat has been sold for the first time since her delivery nearly 20 years ago. Her sale was concluded by Stuart Larsen of Fraser who represented both the buyer and the seller.
Photo: Guillaume PlissonLaunched in 2002, Skat is one of the most distinctive superyachts in the global fleet, with iconic exterior design from Espen Øino International. The yacht has an aggressive and military style with a grey hull and superstructure which is emphasised by the combination of reflective construction materials such as steel, aluminium and glass that create her distinctive grey colour and angular windows that famously jut out from her superstructure. 
Photo: Guillaume PlissonTh interiors of the three-decked, 1,998 GT superyacht come from the boards of Italian designer by Marco Zanini. Like her exterior, grey is the dominant colour palette within the vessel and the expansive use of glass illuminates the interior volumes.

Photo: Guillaume PlissonSkat can accommodate as many as 12 guests on the main deck with space for two additional berths accommodated within one of the convertible staterooms. The full-beam owner’s suite is forward with bathroom aft to starboard with shower, bathtub and his-and-hers vanity stations. In close reach are the main saloon, often used as a cinema, the dining room and the main deck aft with a staircase down to the swim platform and beach club.

She was extraordinarily well built, impeccably maintained, and her layout and design are innovative and elegant. Her enduring appeal was confirmed by the extraordinary interest shown by buyers during the Monaco Yacht Show”.

The yacht has been ingeniously designed to reduce vibration and noise, and Lürssen installed exhaust systems to reduce exhaust noise as well as twin MTU 16V 4000 M70 (2,682 hp) main engines with Koopnautic Searocq 4080 stabilisers for top speeds of up to 18.1 knots.
