What’s inside the new Sanlorenzo 52Steel
With five units already on the water and other three currently under construction, Sanlorenzo’s successful 52Steel range embodies the yard’s forward-thinking technical ability with the refined, elegant lines of an Italian creation.
While no one unit is the same, the latest and fifth 52Steel to be launched boasts some unique features that set her apart from the rest. Having had a close-up look at her sleek exterior, SuperYacht Times finds out how the owner has decided to customise the brand-new build. Photo: SanlorenzoExtended stern area
This truly unique design feature is a result of the collaboration between Sanlorenzo’s team of engineers and the designers from Officina Italiana Design and has won the 52Steel numerous awards. Onboard, her extended stern provides enough space for a floodable garage for a tender that can be converted into a large beach lounge area. Adjacent to the club is a wellness area, making the area the perfect place for guests to both play and relax with easy access to the water thanks to three side doors.Photo: Guillaume Plisson

Above her already impressive beach lounge area sits the unparalleled swimming pool on her aft deck. The large pool fashions a glass bottom that allows light to flow through into the beach lounge area below.Photo: Guillaume Plisson
Custom interior layout
With the help of interior designer Tiziana Vercellesi, this unit features an alternative interior configuration to her sister units. Two large VIP guest staterooms have been placed at the bow of the main deck, where the owner’s living quarters would typically be. The owner’s suite has instead been moved onto the stern of the upper deck which, combined with the cockpit, becomes a more secluded part of the yacht for the owner.
The interior reconfiguration is a testament to the flexibility of the 52Steel’s design capabilities, which can be “made to measure according to the owner’s requests and lifestyle,” as with every other Sanlorenzo new-build.Photo: Guillaume PlissonTop of the line finishes
In her main saloon, she features a custom floor with inlaid marble showing off a variety of colours. Overall, the interior design is described to be “a classic style with warm colours” and includes luxurious finishes with materials such as Tanganyika wood, light-coloured leathers, and marble. Custom-made artworks that enhance the carefully crafted interior will adorn the walls throughout.Photo: Guillaume Plisson

She packs a strong aesthetic and extensive leisure facilities – and does so in under 500 GT. Distributed across five decks, her optimised volume allows her to reach almost any marina even among the more quiet destinations throughout the Mediterranean that her guests may like to explore, such as one of the many dazzling Greek islands.Photo: Charl van Rooy / SuperYacht Times

The aesthetic of this unit is a fine example of the Sanlorenzo style and the sleek exterior lines by Officina Italiana Design. Elements of the exterior can be customised, as proven by the one-of-a-kind external white colour, which is a first for the 52Steel range.Photo: Sanlorenzo The yacht images shown are for illustration purposes only.
