We take a look at the latest magazines, books and other yacht publications. This month includes; Boote Exclusiv, Boat International, Showboats, The Yacht Report, The Crew Report, Yacht Magazine from De Valk, Yacht Design, Superyacht Industry, Speed & Pleasure & The Heesen Yachts magazine.
The third issue of 2007 from Boote Exclusiv only arrived a few days ago with reviews of Admiral’s Be Cool, Vitters’ Mystère, Lürssen’s Linda Lou and the Swan 131 Aristarchos. Further they have an interesting article on hull openings on superyachts.
The Boat International June issue has a real eye-catcher on the cover, a beautiful night shot of the 68m Lürssen Kismet. As you can guess they also have an onboard article on here. Other featured boats include Royal Denship’s Turmoil, Barcos Deportivos BD A-100 and Benetti’s Sunday. Together with this months issue you receive a supplement covering the Wolrd Superyacht Awards, which were held in Venice last April.
Superyacht Industry, the Dutch based magazine for the international superyacht industry, feature Trinity’s Lady Linda, Alloy’s Como and CRN’s GiVi. They also cross the ocean to write about the shipyards of Westport, Trinity, Burger & Derecktor. Further they have articles on Dutch based designers Olivier van Meer, Diana Yacht Design and Vripack.
Italian published Yacht Design reveals the first drawings of Perini’s 56m sloop Salute in their second issue of 2007. Further they show off Baltic’s Pink Gin, Codecasa’s Regina D’Italia, GiVi, Mystère and interview Erna Corbetta and Felci Yacht Design.
Issue 84 of The Yacht Report has articles on Broward Marine and it’s president Tom Lewis, French refit yard ITM, and much more including an interesting article on Arcadia’s stern anchor. They also continue the interview, from last months issue, with Wim Koersvelt of Icon Yacht.
The May 2007 issue of the Crew Report, already their 11th issue, contains articles on the responsibilities of the middle service steward/ess, large yacht anchoring, Timoneer in Alaska, accidents & liability and Burgers project 509.
Yacht Magazine, the magazine of Dutch based brokerage firm De Valk Yacht Brokerage magazine features, among their sales listings, an interesting article on the Van Dam Nordia shipyard.
