Overmarine Group sells first GranSport 45
The Italian Overmarine Group has announced the sale of the first Mangusta GranSport 45 - which was being built on speculation at the yard’s Viareggio facilities. The aluminium fast displacement line debuted at the September boat shows with the 54-metre El Leon. Mangusta’s Commercial Director Francesco Frediani said, “The sale of this 45-metre model in the same line is now confirming that we were able to successfully interpret the needs of this new market segment”.
The GranSport 45 is set to include three MTU 16V M96L engines, two of which connect to a fixed-pitch propeller shaft, and a third of which connects to a Rolls Royce waterjet. The propulsion system will allow the superyacht to reach a maximum speed of 26 knots and a cruise speed of 11 knots. Furthermore, all three engines comply with IMO Tier II and EPA Tier III emissions regulations.
The exterior spaces onboard the GranSport series have been designed by AM Yacht Design while the interiors, on the other hand, have yet to be finalised and are set to be designed by the owner’s wife, who will work in close cooperation with Overmarine to develop them.
Overmarine’s announcement comes on the heels of another Mangusta sale by the group - an Oceano 43.
