Designer Marc Lombard and JFA Yachts have developed a new 100ft concept for long range semi custom catamarans, based on the success of the Long Island 85, for which a contract was signed last year. Marc Lombard’s design team put all of their 25 years of experience with cruising and racing catamarans into this new 100’. In Zero Mode or also known as Silent Mode, M80 would operate fully on electric propulsion, delivering vibration-free navigation with zero local emissions for up to eight hours, which would enable access to environmentally protected areas.In Eco-Hybrid Mode, diesel generators operate at optimal efficiency while electric motors provide propulsion, reducing fuel consumption by an estimated 25 to 30 percent.
